Interview: Emma Donovan

Hailing from northern New South Wales, Emma Donovan has projected her rich, soulful voice to audiences from London’s Royal Concert Hall to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and World Expo in Shanghai, as a solo artist and with the Black Arm Band. Seamlessly blending genres from roots, reggae and gospel to smooth soul, Emma is committed to educating the global community to understand more about Aboriginal culture and spirituality.

Featuring her traditional language Gumbayngirr in poignant songs, Emma’s landmark EP entitled Ngarraanga Ngiinundi Yuludarra (Remember Your Dreaming) is her tribute to the Stolen Generations, launched to coincide with National Sorry Day on May 26, 2009.
